How to Collect All 8 Mementos in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Conquer all eight Hollow Knight: Silksong Mementos—follow our guide from Sprintmaster races to Guardian flea minigames.

If you are anything like me, finishing the main story in Hollow Knight: Silksong definitely felt like a huge achievement. But the true test of mastery comes from the Mementos—eight legendary challenges that push Hornet to her absolute limits. I have spent countless hours exploring every corner of Pharloom, dying over and over, just to see all those shiny mementos displayed in my Bellhome in Bellhart. Trust me, the sense of accomplishment is worth every frustrating moment. Let me walk you through every step of this colossal task, sharing all the tricks I learned the hard way.

Sprintmaster Memento

This one is tied to Act 3. While you are hunting for the Heart of the Wild in the northeastern Far Fields, make your way as far east as possible. You will eventually spot a giant skull that Hornet can enter. Inside waits Sprintmaster Swift. He challenges you to foot races. If you visit him before completing the Act 3 main quest, you can only do the first three races and you will just get a Mask Shard. To earn the Memento, finish Act 3’s storyline, then return. Swift offers a fourth, brutal race. Win that, and the Sprintmaster Memento is yours.

Guardian's Memento

Also in Act 3, while pursuing the Heart of the Woods, you cannot miss Shrine Guardian Seth. He stands right in your path. Defeat him to start a long quest. Afterwards, you need to gather all 30 Lost Fleas and establish the Festival of the Flea in Fleatopia, located in the northeastern Putrefied Ducts. With that done, track down Seth again. After the fight, he appears in a few locations around Pharloom. First, he hangs out in Greymoor where Shakra once sold the map. Second, he moves to Shellwood, just east of the ability chamber in a corridor with hanging flowers. Although some guides mention a third stop at the Grand Gate, in my game he went straight to Fleatopia. In Fleatopia, check the scoreboard near Vog. Seth’s high scores are: Flea Juggle - 55, Flea Dodge - 95, Flea Bounce - 68. Beat those scores in each minigame, then speak to Seth to receive the Guardian's Memento.

Hero's Memento

This involves Garmond and Zaza. The earliest you can meet them is in Greymoor, inside a small chamber along the eastern wall of the main structure. Just talk to them there. Later, in Act 3, find Garmond again in Far Fields (I met him right outside Weavenest Cindril). Once you have done that, the "Hero's Call" wish should appear on the Bellhart Wishboard. To absolutely guarantee it, complete the Old Hearts main quest and acquire the Everbloom. After starting Hero's Call, go to the Blasted Steps Bellway. Zaza will frantically lead you to Garmond, who has been consumed by the Void. Defeat him in this corrupted state to get the Hero's Memento.

Hunter's Memento

Straightforward but insanely tedious. Find Nuu in the Halfway Home in Greymoor, in a small chamber above Criege. He gives you the Hunter's Journal and starts the "Bugs of Pharloom" quest. Your goal: complete all 234 basic entries in that journal. To track your progress easily, get the Farsight item from Weavenest Absalom in the Abyss and install it in your Bellhome. It shows your journal completion stats. Hunting every last bug took me forever, but watching that final entry fill up was pure joy.

Grey Memento

This secret boss hides in the Sands of Karak. You must be in Act 3 with all major abilities, especially Silk Soar. In the southwestern part of the desert, find a hidden seed on the ceiling. Hit it to create a path that leads to a seeming dead end. Use Silk Soar to reach a hidden passage. At the end, you will find what looks like a fossilized statue. Play the Needolin and the Watcher at the Edge will awaken. This boss fight is tough, but beating it gives you the Grey Memento.

Surface Memento

Many call this the "easier cousin of Path of Pain," but it still tested my patience. In Act 3, return to the top of the Cradle, where you fought the Grand Mother of Silk in Act 2. Look for a hidden cave at the very top. Enter and complete the platforming gauntlet, which takes you all the way to the surface. Once outside, head east through the Nameless Town. At the end, among ruins, play the Needolin until a few lyrics appear. Stop playing and an item will materialize on the ground—that is the Surface Memento.

Craw Memento

You must be in Act 3 and spend time around Greymoor. Randomly, when resting on a bench, a Pin will descend holding the Craw Summons. I got it on the bench inside the large rectangular chamber in Shellwood’s eastern side. Once you have the summons, head to the Craw structure at Greymoor’s eastern edge. Enter on the lowest level, go southeast, and use the summons on a locked door. Inside awaits a wave-based combat challenge culminating in the Crawfather. Survive everything to claim the Craw Memento.

Heart Memento

The final memento, closely linked to Act 3’s main quest “The Old Hearts.” The Snail Shamans ask you to collect three hearts, but there are actually four: Heart of Might, Heart of the Woods, Heart of the Wild, and the Conjoined Heart (obtained by completing the Green Prince questline). When you return to the Snail Shamans with at least three hearts, any fourth heart in your possession will become the Memento. If you bring all four, the shamans always take the three main hearts and leave you the Conjoined Heart as a keepsake. You can then display it in your Bellhome as a beautiful reminder of your adventure.

Collecting all eight Mementos demanded everything I had, but watching Hornet’s Bellhome fill up with these trophies is a reward unlike any other in Silksong. I hope my journey helps you on yours. Good luck out there—you are going to need it!
